The
Departments of English, History, Economics along with IQAC of the College
jointly organized “A Session with Alumna” on 10th October 2024 at
A.V hall of the College at 12 noon. Ms. Samanvi ( B.A
Batch 2020-2023) a Carnatic Classical Musician who is M.S Subbulakshmi Voice of
the Year awardee, shared her experiences about her life’s journey so far. She
emphasized on the fact that along with academics, students need to develop a
keen interest in appreciating Art, as Art is all around us. And appreciating
it, is what gives our lives meaning. She enthralled the audience with her
soulful singing in the backdrop of Navaratri Celebrations.
The
President of the program and the Principal of the College, Prof.
LaxminarayanaKaranth, spoke on the occasion, recognizing the talent of Ms.
Samanvi, who has been able to carve a niche for herself in her musical journey,
and wished her success for her future endeavours.
On
this occasion, the MGM Artists Hub- a collective of the talented artists of the
College- a venture in preparation for the Art Exhibition on the occasion of
AmruthaMahotsava of the College was inaugurated by Ms. Samanvi, through
unveiling the MGM Artists Hub Chart Display prepared by Suhana of II B.C.A.
Mrs. Spoorthy S. Fernandes, Assistant Professor of English, provided an
introduction to the Artists Hub.
The
IQAC Co-ordinator of the College, Mrs. Shailaja H, HOD of History Mr.
SubodhPai, HOD of Economics Mr. M . ChannaPoojary were present on the occasion.All
the students from B.A stream participated actively.
Chaitanya
of I BA rendered the invocation. Shaina Menezes of II BA welcomed the
gathering.Nithin Pereira of II BA introduced Ms. Samanvi, to the gathering.
Mrs. Ashwini C. Acharya, HOD of English, proposed the Vote of Thanks.Sakshi of
III BA compered the program.
